Adding automation to your matching process
September 07, 2021
We have made two major improvements to the matching workflow. First is an additional setting called “Not Available for Matching.”
Now you can assign any existing List in the SmartMatchApp to the “Not Available for Matching” setting and all your clients who are on that list will be removed from match suggestions. This way, only those clients who are available for matching will appear in Suggestions. And the other improvement is the ability to auto-assign clients to the List based on a Match group. If you assign a group to a “Not Available for Matching” List then everyone who is moved to that group will be removed from match suggestions. You can also assign a group to any other Lists you want, which adds even more flexibility.
At first sight, it seemed like these were simple improvements, but we found that the productivity-increasing potential is quite significant. Let’s say you now use custom fields in the clients' profiles to track client status. For example, you created a custom field and called it “Client status” with choices like Active, Matched, Inactive, On Hold, etc. But when you change the client's status it does not automatically change their availability for matching. With the new feature, if you link any status such as ‘Matched’ or ‘Inactive’ to the “Not Available for Matching” List, when you refresh Suggestions you will have Suggestions with only clients available for matching, saving you a lot of time during your matching process.
The same automation concept works when a “Not Available for Matching” List is assigned to Match groups. For example, a client has a match in the Active Introduction group or has a Match in a Relationship group and you do not want the pair who have that kind of match to be shown in someone else's Suggestions. If the group is assigned to the “Not Available for Matching” list, voila, your clients will no longer appear in any other client’s Suggestions. Additionally, you can automatically connect a group to another List which gives you even more versatility and productivity increase.
The next step in our development will be adding additional triggers and actions based on Lists in the "Automation" section. They allow you to automate and simplify even more processes and free up time for what you really love - matchmaking!
